2008 LODGE CALENDAR

 
JANUARY

19th: Winter Banquet.
Yearly recognition of past years accomplishments by members of the lodge and the chapters that they serve. All are members and non members are welcome to attend the banquet. So please bring friends and family. This event will be held at Zion UMC in Monroe, NC.

 
MARCH

14th through 16th: Spring Fellowship, Camp John J. Barnhardt.
This event allows the members of the lodge to come together for a weekend of fellowship and fun. This event also serves to help us prepare for the upcoming Dixie Fellowship. This event will be held at Camp John J. Barnhardt. Check in time is between 5:00pm and 7:00pm on Friday night. REGISTRATION FORM AVAIBALE HERE.

28th through the 30th of March:National Leadership & National Lodge Adviser Training Seminar. Kinard Conference Center, Leesville, SC.
NLS- The National Leadership Seminar (NLS) is a weekend training program focusing on leadership development. Run by the Region Chief and his Advisers, it provides an in-depth look at leadership skills and techniques. An NLS discusses how these skills can be applied in your role in the OA and in other aspects of your life. APPLICATION AVAIBALE HERE.

NLATS- The National Lodge Adviser Training Seminar (NLATS) is a weekend conference focusing on the skills and attributes of effective lodge advisers. It is intended primarily to enhance an adviser's knowledge of and connectivity with the OA's strategic plan, program and resources, while emphasizing personal skills that are essential to the development of effective youth leadership and ultimately the OA's service to the council. APRIL

15th:Lodge Organizational Meeting,Camp John J. Barnhardt.
The Lodge Organizational Meeting is for active Arrowmen that wish to be more involved in the Lodge and the Council and Order of the Arrow Mission. All Arrowmen are invited and encouraged to be involved in the running of the Lodge.

19th: Council Beaver Day, Camp John J. Barnhardt
This is a yearly event where all Scouters (over 18 years old) are invited to participate in a Council wide day of service to Camp John J. Barnhardt. Many different types of projects are carried out and scouters are encouraged to bring their tools and safety equipment and lend assistance where they can.

25th through 27th: Dixie Fellowship.
This event is held annually to bring arrow men together for a weekend of fellowship, competition, and training. The primary purpose of the fellowship is to provide training, elect section officers, and provide a meaningful program for the members of the section. Arrowmen can see the best dance and ceremony competition in the area. If you enjoy patch trading, areas are set-aside for this purpose. On both Friday and Saturday nights the host lodge helps to put on spectacular shows. Along with shows, games, and activities each lodge competes for the coveted Section Spirit Award.

 
MAY

9th through 11th: Spring Ordeal.
It is the purpose of the ordeal to have candidates reflect on their own Scout life and their character and come to a deeper understanding of the Scout Oath and the principles of the Order of the Arrow.

The ordeals are the principle time in which the lodge provides service to Camp John J. Barnhardt. While a lot of service is provided we also take time to rededicate yourself to the ideals of the Order's founder E. Urner Goodman.

JULY

26th through 2nd of August: ARROWCORPS5.
The Order of the Arrow has had a long-standing interest in coordinating a national service project, utilizing the infrastructure and leadership established over many years of success at the Boy Scouts of America's high adventure bases. Working closely together, the United States Forest Service and the OA have chosen five project sites, spread across America, that will be the focus of our combined efforts. ArrowCorps5 (pronounced Arrow Corps Five) will provide a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for each participant to set an example of leadership in service to those who treasure our national forests.

AUGUST

NOVEMBER

7th through 9th: Fall Fellowship.
The Fall Fellowship is quite similar to the Spring Fellowship in that chapters work on service projects during the morning and fellowship during the afternoon. There will be several different activities held throughout the day to include elections of the new lodge officers, Judging for the Golden Arrow Award and the reconfiguration of new Vigil Honor members.
